Singapore Garden Festival

Despite the driving rain practically everyday... I have flocked to the first - ever inaugural Singapore Garden Festival (SGF) on 19 Dec 2006 (Tuesday) at Suntec.

Below are some of the pictures taken at the Best of Show Designer Gardens (featuring the creations by our own local designers and top award-winning garden designers from the various countries such as UK, USA, Australia, Japan, China, etc.).

The Southeast Asia's rich and diverse heritage of Orchids were also showcased at SGF. These are some pictures taken at Singapore Orchid Show during the festival.

Yan Zi, one of the Singapore artists (Singer) became the first Singapore Celebrity to have a pure white Orchid hybrid named after her..... called Dendrobium Stefanie Sun.

Enjoyed such a wonderful and exciting event..... pleased my eyes and delighted my senses.

Yummy food! eats (Cantonese Cuisine)

These are some of the famous Cantonese cuisine from Sum's Kitchen & Hong Kong Roasted Meat, 3 Jalan Legundi - just opposite Sembawang Shopping Centre.

This restaurant was recommended by We We.

We We and myself have combined giving a farewell lunch to Yen Nee before she heads to France for her two years official duties.

I have also given a lunch treat to Kristine, Celia, Katherine and Hai Keong in this restaurant.

This restaurant serves very good Cantonese cuisines .... so go and try it. You will love this home - cooked food.

By the way, I love the dip which is a special mix of the ginger and spring onions.

Yummy food! eats (Heng Hua Cuisine)

These are some of my favour Heng Hua dishes from Ming Chung Restaurant (67, Maude Road off Jalan Besar Road), especially the Heng Hua Lor Mee which comes with white gravy, prawns, tau hoo slices, veggies, clams, sliced pork and yam slices.
I have been patronising this restaurant since my kiddy time. My daddy likes to bring the whole family to this restaurant during the weekend dinnertime.
Most of the time, my parents will order some of these famous dishes for the family and we enjoyed it....

Now, I' m growing up and living independently.... I still visiting this restaurant very often.
However, I really missed the times ..... having such wonderful dishes with my parents in Ming Chung.
If you have not tried any Heng Hua Cuisines.... do remember to visit this restaurant and I assure you that you will love the dishes cooked by Ming Chung.
Caution!!! Expect to wait for at least 45 minutes to an hours for your food.
So just make sure you are really patient .... have plently of time to "kill" these wonderful Heng Hua cuisine.

Yummy food! eats (Ayam Penyet)

Ayam Penyet / Ikan Penyet - Chicken/ Fish, Sambal and Veggies (baby tomatoes, cucumbers and lettuce) served on a special wooden plate.
It was Uncle Sri Pon who introduced me to this special 'flattened chicken' dish from Sri Bistari (Block 3, #01-40) during my recent visit to Changi Village Food Centre on 27 Nov 06, with We We.
On 6 Dec 06, I re-patronised one of the Sri Bistari's outlet at the other block in Changi Village Food Centre (Block 2, #01-59), for the Ayam Penyet and Ikan Penyet.
By the way, I love the sambal which is slightly sweet and not overwhelmingly spicy..... very Shiok lar.
So go and try this special dish.....

Yummy food! eats (Muffins)

These muffins were brought from Bliss Haven Restaurant at Toa Payoh Lorong 1, Block 127.

Have tried them.... but I prefer the Yummylicious Muffins (chocolate chip muffin, banana walnut muffin and cheese muffin) from Chocolat N Spice at Shunfu Mart (Block 320, Shunfu Road, #02-12).

Yummy food! eats (Fish head Steamboat)

Fishhead Steamboat... the preferred dish for health-conscious diners.
Xin Heng Feng Kway Teow stall is one of my Singapore's best food places that serves mouth-watering fish head steamboat. This stall is located at the temporary constructed Whampoa Hawker Centre.
It comes with steamed rice, a dip of light soya sauce with sliced chilli and vinegar chilli sauce. By dipping the fish slices in a vinegar chilli sauce and eat it, you will definitely fall in love with it.... so YUMMY.
You can also get some side dishes such as "chai bay", "ah ba chui", etc., which goes very well with the said steamboat.
By the way, this stall only serves fish head steamboat at night and it boasts the longest queue in the Hawker Centre during the dinnertime. I have been a patron of this stall for many years.

Let Xin Heng Feng's delicious fish head steamboat change your mind... so go and try it... a MUST - TRY for fans who love good foods.
